Wheatley geology visit July 2025

On a hot day in July, a large group from both OGT and the Wheatley Society were guided around Wheatley examining outcrops of limestone and its use as building stone.

Museum launch

Faringdon now has its own museum

OGT ran a stall at the recent Faringdon Heritage day (September 15th 2018) to highlight the unique fossils that are found in the area. A display case with specimens from the Faringdon Sponge Gravels was presented to the town council and received on their behalf by the Mayor’s Cadet.
