Local Geodiversity Action Plans

Local Geodiversity Action Plans

Geodiversity is the geological diversity of an area.

This includes the rocks, fossils, minerals and natural processes (geomorphology) of the area, and also the soils, landscape, museum collections and building stone. Local Geodiversity Action Plans (LGAPs) provide a process and a framework for the conservation of our geodiversity.

In collaboration with a variety of funders, partners and stakeholders, OGT has produced two LGAPs:

LGAP Lower and Middle Jurassic

North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty LGAP.
